Originally from Scotland, Helen DeFontes currently resides in Gerritsen Beach and is a staple to the Brooklyn community. Locals can’t walk down Gerritsen Avenue without seeing Ms. DeFontes and stopping to say hello.
Ms. DeFontes was the Manager and Closing Coordinator for Best Seller #1 Properties for nearly 20 years. Her dedication to her work was best exemplified during Hurricane Sandy. Her home was without electricity, heat and water, and the Best Seller offices were flooded. Even though the offices had no phones, Ms. DeFontes sat outside alternating between two cell phones, making calls and dealing with clients and closing deals while juggling her own Sandy related issues. She loves what she does and the close-knit relationships she has with the people she works with. In 2017, Ms. DeFontes joined the Madison Estates team, bringing with her the dedication, skill, and expertise needed for success.
Ms. DeFontes was the first female ever to enter Brooklyn Technical High School, while also scoring top 10 on the entrance exam.
